Vases cast in porcelain and handdecorated. Height: 17 cm, Ø: 10-13 cm
Turned Profiles is a series of vases or perhaps studies even: the latest step on my investigation journey through profiles, geometric shapes and cutouts. Folding a piece of paper and cutting a line is a simple way of designing an object. Unfolding the paper is always something of a revelation - will it work or not? Another thread through my work seem to be relations between objects - negative spaces and variations within a set of principles. There is of course a straight line from 'Bottino' to this project and to 'EdT' - all three different takes on porcelain vases. The black stripes vary in thickness and have now become an integrated part of the shape. They resemble the technique used in woodcarving, where a hot pen burns a line while you turn the wood. In a serial production lines made with a brush under the glaze suggests a quick and simple way to decorate without multiple firings.
